05 Gina Long
Gina studied with photographer Anne Zelle at American University in Washington, DC where she received a B.A. in Visual Media. She began her career with Court TV and later served for five years as the Missing Child Producer at America’s Most Wanted. Later Gina produced broadcast documentary programs for Discovery Network and CBS. Currently Gina balances her time between being wife to husband Steve, mother to her son Nolan and owner/photographer at The Unexpected Portrait in Southern California.
Gina recently produced a short film entitled “Down with Rosie” for GO PUBLIC: A Day in the Life of PUSD where she met Jonathan and Carrie Pascual. Gina comes to The Still Project with an interest in reflecting the true impact of the loss of a child. She is dedicated to a project that will depict real life; the ups, the downs, the challenges and the victories.
“I am familiar with the topic because I lost a child at 16 weeks in the womb and my sister lost her son Michael after 29 hours of life to anencephalic brain development. Our family, like so many others, lives life with gaps. We also enjoy a beautiful understanding of the imprint our departed loved ones have made for the positive.” Gina Long
