In just about 8 hours the first official STILL trailer has received over 600 views. This is good. We need as many eyes as possible. Many will be compassionate and sensitive. Some are destined to be dismissive. It’s our goal to make this film accessible to everyone so that understanding and education will take place within the loss community and extending to those who have not suffered the death of a baby within their family.
Miscarriage, Stillbirth and Infant death shortly after birth are our main topics. Life, death, loss and the grief process that follows the death of a baby is our focus. This will be a transformative experience for participants, supporters and future viewers. We will be changed. “We are different.”
In this short 4 minute piece we speak the very basic theme and vision for STILL. Literally and figuratively we have miles of ground still to cover. So far we have only spent time with 4 of our subjects. We intend to cover between 15 and 20. This is all dependent on future funding and time. We will interview the famous and the unknown. Some folks may be familiar to you. Some you will meet for the first time through the camera lense.
We are grateful to individuals such as Sherokee Ilse that share their wisdom as well as their heart and personal experience. It’s our goal to shine the light on current individuals that raise a new banner for all of us who have lost babies, Carly Marie, Kelly Farley and Sean Hanish will provide their perspectives through the eyes of their unique and powerful projects.
We will delve into issues medical in nature as well as emotional. There is much to do. So, we are off to a truly beautiful start. Use this trailer to further our mission as a community but also share it with your immediate circle of family and friends. If there is a frustrating aspect to this process it is that it will take some time. During that time more babies will die. More families will be crushed. More marriages and relationships challenged. I wish I could help the healing more right now. I also know that in releasing small films such as this trailer, healing can begin.
We will be patient, work hard. We will stay connected, listen to your thoughts. Thank you for standing with us. This is certainly a new day. We cannot fix everything but we can fix many things. Like you, we are world changers, because our families and babies are worth it. “They matter.”
