Hidden within the process of dealing with the crisis of losing a baby are the endless twists, turns, ups and downs that we deal with daily. There are the memories we bury in our subconscious and the obstacles we are yet to encounter. All of these factors affect us all differently, mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, grandparents and friends. The beauty of STILL will be its varying points of view.
Jessica is a young, exuberant, bright, senior in high school. She loves playing softball. Jessica also lives daily with the grief of having lost her baby sister Paz. Her perspective and outlook on life have certainly been altered through the experience of caring for her mother through the trials of losing Paz. She had many plans with her future little sister. Now her moments caught in silence are filled with thoughts of what might have been and what her future might hold as she becomes a woman and eventually considers starting a family of her own.
I have said before, we are blessed to be producing this film. We are fortunate to be experiencing these moments and conversations in real time. Eventually you, the viewer will get to spend some time with beautiful people just like Jessica and her family. Thank you Jessica and Amparo for sharing your morning with us and helping us officially kick off primary photography for STILL. #SayItOutLoud
